♥ Our beautiful Grandma Polly, real name Mary, passed away in Whips Cross hospital after a short illness which was related to her great and wonderful age. She was one of the lovliest and wisest people you could ever meet.

♥ Born in Canterbury where her father was a Military Tailor, Polly was the eldest of her Polish/Russian born parents Solomon and Bessie Jacobs four children, and was their only daughter. Apparently, she was spoiled rotten!

♥ Polly met her fiance, George Davis in London during the early 1920's. George was a Geologist and Minerologist and his work called him to Nigeria. Polly and George sailed off to Jos, Nigeria, in May 1926 and they were married as soon as they landed. In 1939 while Polly was in England visiting her family, she received word that her beloved George had contracted Yellow Fever and died. Polly never returned to Nigeria and remained in London all her life.

♥ Polly leaves her daughter Sheila, son-in-law Dennis (since deceased), grandson Adrian and his wife Judy, and great-grandchildren Mark and Paul.

With Love always,
Your family
